In an interview, Nigel Key, the ISTH Council Chair, identified several trials being presented this week that are likely to be practice changing. This includes two late-breaking abstracts presented Monday that will be simultaneously published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Release of this data at the 2015 ISTH Congress is appropriate. Key explained that this meeting brings together the basic scientists responsible for identifying new targets of therapy, the investigators who test the concepts, and the clinicians who will implement care with the potential to save lives.
