Soccer Match

Saturday, June 20 at 20:00 (8 p.m.)
soccerTraditionally, ISTH members have independently organized a friendly soccer match, and they will continue this tradition in Toronto this year.

This event is an unofficial part of the Congress, but event organizer Leo Brandao invites everyone interested to come along and cheer on your colleagues  and friends at Cherry Beach Soccer Field. The match will feature Basic Scientists vs. Clinicians as they play for the Bob Malia Trophy. Questions regarding this event should be directed to Leo Brandao at


Opening Ceremony and Receptionsocial email 4

Sunday, June 21 from 18:00-22:00 (6-10 p.m.)
Free Admission with Congress Registration

The exciting Opening Ceremony will take place in the Plenary Hall (Level 800) in the Congress venue from 18:00-19:30 (6-7:30 p.m.).

In addition to official opening speeches, there will be a grand selection of Canadian entertainment and performances to welcome all to ISTH 2015 in Toronto. The Welcome Reception will take place in the adjacent Exhibition Hall following the ceremony from 19:30-22:00 (7:30-10 p.m.).

ISTH 5K Fun Run

Tuesday, June 23 at 20:00 (8 p.m.)
Registration required, $35-45 CAD

End your day with a healthy run and experience Toronto’s waterfront during the ISTH 2015 5K Fun Run! The ISTH supports a healthy lifestyle, and therefore Congress organizers invite attendees to participate in a beautiful evening run along Lake Ontario, while contributing to a great cause as $5 CAD of each registration goes to support World Thrombosis Day.

All registered runners and walkers will receive a technical race T-shirt, and finishers will receive a medal for their efforts! Bus shuttle service will be leaving from the south entrance of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (the Congress venue). Pick up starts at 18:30 (6:30 p.m.). Registered walkers and runners will be emailed with all the details prior to the Fun Run.

barenakedThe All Congress Party promises to be the pinnacle of the Toronto ISTH 2015 Congress, and you don’t want to miss it! The renowned Toronto nightclub MUZIK will host the award-winning Canadian rock band Barenaked Ladies as you enjoy this unique opportunity to network with colleagues and experience Canadian music and culture.
