KTP_5979At first the blood drops “danced” freely through the veins of the exhibit hall, floating and fluttering effortlessly – joyfully, even. They were full of life. ISTH attendees giggled and snapped photos of the spectacle.

But then things took a turn for the worse. Suddenly, the drops approached a narrow arch, clotting  unexpectedly, piled one on another. And the fun came to a rapid end.

The event was a “blood clot flash mob” staged as part of the Time2Move campaign in partnership with World Thrombosis Day. Time2Move is a global initiative that is raising public awareness of blood clots, aiming to get people around the world “moving against thrombosis.”
